A Christian Romantic Suspense about war, trauma, faith and the God who refuses to leave us in the dark.
The soldier who collapsed on Stacy Sutton’s battlefield shouldn’t exist.
The Civil War ended more than a century ago. But the wounded stranger she photographs insists the battle is real, and that he is Tyler R. Sheridan, the poet who died at the Battle of Shiloh in 1862.
War photojournalist Stacy Sutton has spent years documenting humanity’s darkest conflicts. After seeing her partner mowed down in a battlefield, she is left with guilt and a shaken faith. She returns home hoping to rebuild her life. Instead, she finds herself drawn into a mystery she can’t explain.
Doctors say the wounded man is suffering from delusions. Historians accuse Stacy of staging a publicity stunt.
But Stacy has seen the truth in his eyes… the same haunted pain she carries. As she and Tyler search for answers, they discover a legacy tied to one of America’s bloodiest wars—and a man whose broken mind may hold the key to healing them both. Because sometimes God uses the most unexpected paths to bring light into the darkest night… and a second chance at faith, hope, and love.
